When I’m asked…”What is the best way to go about ordering my cake”, I have to be straight forward…I prefer the good old fashion way of face-to-face. It gets very difficult to email back and forth. I also don’t answer the phone while I am helping a customer in store, making it difficult to get back to every message left. I wish that I could, and I apologize for any calls I do not return.
If you send an email to the shop at firstname.lastname@example.org you will receive an auto reply that has my full schedule of available appointments as well as some really fabulous information.
However, if you can’t come in to the shop, perhaps an email is a good start. If you do leave a voicemail, please include as much information as possible. We truly love what we do and want to help make the process of ordering your next cake an easy one. Please note: Advance notice is required on custom orders and some dates in 2017 have already been blocked off. If you are ordering one of our previous made designs, 2-5 weeks is advised. If you want to replicate a photo, that is considered custom.
Custom cakes are made on Friday/Saturday/Sunday only. We currently do not take custom cake orders for other than these days.
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
2 months advance notice is recommended when designing a cake during peak wedding season (April – October). If you are selecting a cake from our website or FLICKR albums, then we can do that with approximately 2-5 weeks notice. You can order that right at the counter. It’s never to soon to book your cake. A Sweet Design does reserve the right to black out any weekend at anytime without advance notice.

How much do custom cakes cost?
The following are approximations, final price is based on design and flavor
Starting price: $145
Buttercream cakes: $6.50 per person
Fondant cakes: $9 per person
3D Sculpted cakes: $750+
Can I have my cake delivered?
Absolutely! Price of delivery depends on day, time and location. Please inquiry for delivery rates.
Will a deposit/retainer fee be required?
50% of the total is required to confirm your order with A Sweet Design. Please note this is a non-refundable retainer fee. Full payment is required 14 days prior to delivery date if you have selected delivery. However, final payment can be made on picked up orders at time of pick-up. All payments on custom cakes are non-refundable.
Do you have Black Out dates?
Yes. The store is closed for the following Holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th Of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Post-Christmas Day. Also, when our maximum quantity of cakes has been reached, we will black out that date. Please note: The store is closed Mondays & Tuesdays.

What is the deadline for alterations to my custom order?
We require a 7 day notice on any changes for a custom order. This is a very strict policy. Please expect an expediting charge of $50 to be added to your order if changes are made with less than 7 days notice
Do we need to save the top tier of our wedding cake?
Although a wonderful tradition, who wants frozen cake a year later? We do offer an anniversary cake for $25. This can be done in any of the flavors you had at your wedding (based on our current menu). A 14-day lead time is required to place this order when the time does come. Please note, this is not a replica of your wedding cake but rather a sweet token to remember your amazing day.
